I come from London and moved to Slovenia a few years ago. I have set up a company but am finding it very hard as even though I speak the language I have yet to master the grammer and so can't write in slovene. It has become a big handicap for me to progress with my company and get doors to open in the business world as all emails tend to get ignored if they are written in english. It would be nice to target english companies in slovenia who are welcoming to other languages. This would help me get over the stigma I have faced now for some time and in this ever increasing recession it would give me hope to continue to live in such a wonderful country.

The slovenes can be very arrogant and have very little sense of humour when it comes to their own way of thinking. Helping and trusting others seems to be a lesson they could learn from foreigners who come to live there.

Politeness of neighbours,associates and services. Helpfulness and humble attitudes in general. Range and scope of cost effective solutions.
Arrogance and argumentative nature of service suppliers. Pessimistic attitude to progress in general. Minority approach to foreigners who wish to live in their country. They can be very false in dealing with others due to a need to better their own materialistic lifestyles. Very high cost of living with very low financial opportunities and wages.
