About
I am an Irish-American with more than a bit of the rover in me, I am familiar with traveling abroad, have lived in many major American cities, most of my adult life in San Francisco/Seattle. I bummed around Paris for 6 mos. when I was 19. My wife of 7 years passed away 11 mos. ago. I am educated, worked as fine dining chef for 15 yrs. have played in a few bands on the west coast and worked in the music industry doing studio and road work. I am opposed to the current political and cultural values in my home country and feel like I belong somewhere else, I don't feel "Free" here at all...I am a bit to much of a socialist for the natives here. I speak English very well and am capable of teaching ESL. I do not claim any religion but am very keen on studying Buddhism in a contemporary context. I have done quite a bit of back-packing through Mexico, Thailand and Canada in addition to my brief living exp. in Paris. I have heard Prague referred to as the jewel of Eastern Europe. Right now I am recovering from the loss of my wife and living with my family in Saint Louis and I do not have much money, I have however never let that bother me before, I am pretty adventurous and have been through some very rough territory(I lived in the Tenderloin for years, if you've been to S.F. you know what I mean.). I am currently re-evaluating my life and which direction it should take. I like to help people and generally feel better about myself when I am being of service. That does not mean I am a tea-totaling submissive type at all. I am confident and enjoy life in a different way than most people...I guess I am trying to call my self a Neo-Bohemian, works for me. I am an accomplished guitarist and have tutored music. As a chef I wa responsible for teaching people how to cook and had to communicate in variety of languages, mostly French and Spanish. I like strong cigarettes and stronger coffee and don't mind lift the odd pint of stout at the local Bird and Bee. I am stimulated by learning and talking to interesting people while being subtly introverted. Is that enough?
