Availability of everything, at a great price. The weather, people, food, and never ending array of things to see and do.
The bad name it has earned, and how other destination in Thailand are equally as bad, if not worse than Pattaya. Having gone back in 2024, it has become inundated with Chinese and Indians, which has made it way less attractive. The traffic is insane too.

Spend 6 months of every year for 3 years in Antarctica (which isn't in the database for this app), and had our maintenance base in New Zealand. If we needed a major inspection or repair we flew the 8 hours from McMurdo to Christchurch to get it done.
Great location. Period. Only 1% of the population have been to Antarctica. The scenery, and flying was insane.
