About

I am Roman, I am 24 years old and I have always lived in Nantes. Soon to hold (September 2012) a Master's degree in "risk management: quality, hygiene, safety and environment" (bac +5), I plan to settle for a while in New Caledonia with one of my best friends with the aim of discovering another culture, another landscape, another life. The objective for me would be to have a first year of professional experience (or more) in my field while enjoying a quality living environment. I have already read about "how to settle and live in NC" (with the advantages and disadvantages) but the question I still ask myself is: "are there any opportunities in my field of activity?" (I have seen that this is the case among large companies: Manpower, nickel mines, etc.), but I would like to know if the SMEs of NC are also from a QHSE perspective, my ambition being to work in small or medium-sized companies.
Interests: reggae, music (hard rock/metal, walks, dubstep, ...), diving,

My project is to succeed in finding a job in my field of activity in New Caledonia so as to be able to combine work and a quality living environment.
Looking for a job since my arrival in NC in the QHSE field.
The good weather, the landscapes, the welcoming people.
The cost of living, the uncertainty of finding a job and being able to meet basic needs, centipedes and mosquitoes.

Nantes, France

I am currently finishing my studies with an internship in Safety in the metallurgy sector. My plan is to go to NC around November-December.
These are my roots (family, friends)... Nantes is an excellent city with lots of entertainment, pretty landscapes (banks of the Erdre), as well as a fairly young population (many students)
If I have to give a negative point about this city, I would say the great difficulty in getting around by car. Lots of traffic jams, and nothing is done to facilitate motorists, quite the contrary. (super expensive parking meter, repeated fines, numerous speed cameras, etc.). And in general, I want to leave France for a while because the atmosphere is heavy and oppressive (people's mentality, negative developments in the country, etc.)
