Hi, Being a Turk born and raised in England I have enjoyed moving to Ankara and getting back in touch with a distant side of me. However sometimes I miss the variety - I enjoy walking around London and passing Italian, French, South African etc... restaurants and making friends with people from different backgrounds. Ankara is like the Washington of Turkey where as Istanbul is the New York!

Making friends in Istanbul is fine. But in Ankara you really need to have lived here before. It tends to be Bilkent or ODTU type graduates who form tight groups of friends. Ankara has a more closed feel to it. Read More
