About

In 2011, I left Belgium to realize one of my biggest dreams: Go on an adventure and meet a country that I knew so little about. Daughter of Sicilian immigrants, my cultural heritage was limited to the 60s and summers spent in the “village”. Like any child of immigrants, my thirst for knowledge was immeasurable... It was enough to pass the Cape and achieve what everyone said they wanted to do without ever crossing the border of the dream: LEAVE.
Interests: photographie, cuisine, musique, art contemporain, cinéma

Occupation

I am Employed.

My expat journey

Sales assistant in a communications company and currently sales assistant in a dental clinic
-Stability at professional level -Tortelli di zucca - close to Milan, Bologna, Verona - its parks, its lakes - Ideal city for families, very quiet
-Humidity! Mist all winter, summer too humid - mosquitoes - Difficult to access by train - no shuttle from Verona/Bergamo airport

Naples, Italy

Jul 2012 - Sept 2014

Naples, Italy

Initially I taught English and French while working for a translation agency. Then, I worked as a reservation agent for Msc cruises
The smile of its inhabitants and their kindness, the fact of living "day to day", the food and my extra 8kg which followed, having known the beauty of Ischia, Capri, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, preparing my dream wedding!
The chaos of the streets between traffic, public transport and the mountains of abandoned waste, the punctuality of my friends :), the battle to find a place in the world of work...

Rome, Italy

Jan 2011 - Jun 2012

Rome, Italy

Sales for a multinational
Walk on 2000 years of history, art, its French-speaking institutions, its climate, open-mindedness, concerts, the porchetta!!! Its connections with major Italian cities, the Trastevere district and its liveliness in summer...the accessible dream :=)
The hell of public transport and its strikes, the Smog!!!, the street vendors (umbrella if it's raining, umbrella if it's too hot).

Brussels, Belgium

Aug 2008 - Nov 2011

Brussels, Belgium

I continued my studies in Brussels where I lived in shared accommodation with people from all over the world :)
Its cultural and culinary diversity, its bars, the kindness of my neighbors in Schaerbeek, its museums and unusual events, the art galleries of Sablon, the bars of St Géry and its free concerts, the Délirium and its endless choice of beers, the rue des pittas, the absurd stress around the European Institutions, this mixture of languages, traits and cultures...
Traffic, "the blues", the lack of green spaces in the city center, the cost of certain festivals and exhibitions...
