I am coming from New York City, NY USA. I am about to go on a three week vacation to Israel and I'd like to meet with some spanish speaking people who also know english. I'd like to learn spanish and thats why I signed up for this. I think that a multilingual person is better off in places especially like New York. The melting pot of the world contains many spanish speaking people. I lived in Washington Heights a place with a large population of people from the DOminican Republic. It is hard to communicate with them without feeling like a jokester. I'd like to take these people seriously by getting involved with therir culture for a short while. Its hard to do that in New York, becasue there isn't much way to contact Latinos for private sessions. In Israel, I am hoping to meet a lation Jew for a day or two to talk about life in SPanish. A multi ligual person also has ways of refining what he or she thinks by translating thoughts into many languages and seeing overlapping roots or different roots with similar meanings.
