Hello There you go, here we go, our expatriation to Algiers is coming to fruition, for September 2013. The deadline may seem distant, but when you are the spouse of a future expatriate, with a job in France, and 3 children, time will fly by I think! Having a particular emotional attachment to Algeria which dates back well before my marriage (I can't explain it, I live it), I am really not reluctant to leave. Far be it from me to romanticize and fantasize this change which will impact our lives. But..... being the child of Portuguese immigrants myself, having started my professional career in a region of the Great Lakes devastated by the Tutsi genocide, I know what departures entail. I do not want to minimize the beautiful human adventure that awaits my children, and what awaits me too. They will be 13, 11 and 6 years old when we take up residence in Algiers My husband has worked at least 2 weeks per month in Algeria for 5 years now. He knows a good part of the countries because of his internal travels, he tells me about this country. And then our sedentary lifestyle would also allow us a more peaceful daily life.
