Hi, my name is Kai. I live in the Boston area, but I'm already in Marrakech as a I write this. I'm here with a friend who is restoring a riad in the medina and I'm considering the possibility of doing this as well. I'm an artist and a builder back in the states, and my dream would be to spend a part of the year in Marrakech, or maybe some place else, just painting. While here in Marrakech, I hope to find a community of expats, and possibly some other artists as well. Of course I'm interested in the local culture as well, but I'd like to find some European and American expats to share this experience with, and to maybe show me around a bit. Unfortunately, English is the only language that I'm fluent in (won't mention languages I've studied so as not to create any false expectations), but if I stay here long enough, I would like to learn some Arabic, maybe take a class or something.
