About

I have called Egypt home now for nearly half my life. I moved to Cairo when I was 16 and graduated from high school in front of the pyramids! After university, I lived in Cairo for 8 years, working as a teacher. I needed a break from the city so I moved to Dahab, South Sinai, where I have lived for almost 3 years now. I am the author of one children's book about Egypt, An ABC Escapade through Egypt, that I wrote for the many Egyptian children learning English in Cairo. I have a passion for learning, language, photography, and culture - and hope my book and photoblog help others learn about the fascinating culture of modern Egypt.
Interests: photography, eating, gardening, hiking, snorkeling, reading

Another great place in Ma'adi as far as meeting other foreigners is CSA - the Community Services Association. There's a branch of Cafe Greco on site and nice tables to sit outside. They also offer a lot of courses, tours, etc. livinginegypt.org/ Read More
