About

My name is Claudia and I'm Brazilian, as well as my husband and kids . My husband works for a multinational company and that's why we are always prepared to move to a different place from time to time. We started moving from São Paulo to Caracas, Venezuela in 2003, then , we came back to live in São Paulo in 2006. Our second foreign assignment was in 2010 when we came to live in Panama. Now we're moving in July to Lima, Peru. And would like to know a little bit more about this beautiful country that we visit on vacations once. I'm exited and concerned at the same time. Where to live, which international school would be the best option? Too many questions. I can also give some answers about São Paulo, Caracas and Panama City.

My expat journey

brazilbrazilpanamafrance
Lima, France

Since Aug 2013

Lima, France

I am happy living here and I plan to dedicate myself to my dance classes (being able to dedicate myself to dance was one of the great compensations for leaving my job to follow my husband). I would also like to look for some social project that I can participate in and help. I am also looking for other Brazilian or Peruvian women who follow the teachings of Allan Kardec. I would like to form a group of spiritist studies.
I would like to develop a social work where I could use the teaching of dance in its various styles to children and the elderly.
I love living in San Isidro, in a very beautiful and well-kept area. I like to see that there is cultural life in Lima. I intend to visit theaters and museums in Lima a lot.
I don't like to realize that, despite being a very educated and gentle people, I still have a lot of racial prejudice against blacks, indigenous people and against the less favored. Another thing I don't understand is why there is so much aggressiveness in traffic.

Panama, Panama

Aug 2010 - Jul 2013

Panama, Panama

In Panama I was involved in some social work, through a group of wives at the company where my husband works. We usually do social work in nursing homes and orphanages
I really liked being part of a community of foreigners, in the urbanization of Costa del Este. Life there is very quiet, and relatively safe. I still love summer all year round. I really liked getting to know beautiful beaches like Bocas del Toro and San Blas. It is a very nice place for tourism.
I didn't like the informality of the people providing services. You couldn't find very good providers who kept their appointments. The toll in the southern corridor was what was most chaotic and terrible.

Sao Paulo, Brazil

Aug 2006 - Jun 2010

Sao Paulo, Brazil

Upon returning to my country, after leaving my job 3 years before. I have sought to dedicate myself new to my profession.
After trying to return to the social communications market, I have decided to look for work as a consultant in a company that provides relocation services for expatriate executives. It was a great experience.
I would like to be able to live close to my family and friends again.
Insecurity was, and still is, a very complex problem throughout the country, especially in the city of Sao Paulo.

Caracas, Brazil

Jan 2004 - Jul 2006

Caracas, Brazil

I left my job at a bank in Brazil to accompany my husband on his international assignment, and since then I have dedicated myself to the family full time.
I mainly liked the people who were very friendly and happy, as well as the Brazilians. I liked the urbanization of La Lagunita and the little town of El Hatillo. I also loved my daughter's school, the Colegio Internacional de Caracas - CIC.
I did not at all like witnessing the excesses of Mr. Hugo Chavez and all the insecurity generated by the conflicts between Chavistas and opponents. It hurts my heart to realize that until today Venezuelans are entangled in that dictatorial regime and that once again they are going through such difficult times.
