we built our dream six years ago. After purchasing 11 hectares of land we built our house then a set of three buildings and a swimming pool in order to receive tourists. The rest of the land is available for breeding bulls because we are in a breeding region! We are proud of the result but we must be more available for our elderly parents, and our grandchildren, hoping that others will appreciate what we have done. We have a clientele who comes for the calm of the place and the French cuisine, which is very popular (family cooking) and of course the swimming pool! namely rural area free of construction. no plan, no permit. possibility of selling plots. in short FREEDOM!! what we really appreciated here. Close to town 7km. Large cities Higuey (45 mins) and Hato Major (20 mins). we of course appreciate the very pleasant climate and life in the countryside but the sea is 1 hour to the south, it's a weekly outing. we will continue to live here as much as possible but without responsibilities that block us, we are already residents but we remain attached to France. we are happy here, the first times are a little hard with the paperwork and the change of language (think about learning a little Spanish before coming) but then it's great. ask me any questions you want I will answer it soon Christiane
