Hello everyone, I have wanted to be adventurous and live in exotic places since I was a little girl but only now has the fear of doing so lifted. This year I will turn 40, which I am very excited about (30's are overrated;) and I want to make a move in the next 6-18 months. For now I am down sizing and willing to rent out one of my 2 bedrooms to other travellers while I save up a little more money and decide where I want to go next. In Feb '13 I went to the DR alone for 3 weeks and loved the experience though I wouldn't want to live there. It was nice to get my solo travel feet wet again. It's been a long time since I'd been on a plane to anywhere never mind alone. I am a carpenter and am presently working a contract in Toronto, ON for live concert events. At the end of the summer I want to take off again but may postpone until the end of the rainy season. I'm interested in Nicaragua, Ecuador and Costa Rica. Favorites of mine are camping, hiking, reading, sushi, fishing,travel, building things, making new friends. I also like to dress up, go dancing, fine dining and the theatre. As much as I like my fancier side, if I had to choose one, I'd rather have my hands dirty in the garden, a cold beer close by and people to laugh with. UPDATE: July 2013 I have given notice on my apartment and selling things off preparing to move south. I will still keep my bed, dishes, dining table and winter clothes in storage in case I come home to stay but I have the feeling those items may be going on the market next spring. My mission has morphed slightly. I plan to learn about the different departments, legally acquiring property or opening a business. I want to meet with entrepreneurs and expats who have been living there for some time and get an understanding of their ideas and quality of living. I'd like to put together an extensive packet of information so I am able to make the best choices for my relocation, should I decide that is what I want to do. So anyone wanting to get together for a coffee and a chat or a meal or even if you want to spend a few days seeing something new with me, I'd love to meet wonderful, curious people who are just as eager to share the discoveries of this emerging destination. ~Kitty http://aBraveNewMe.com
