About
We moved to Scotland in 1999. Very quickly, we were subject to racism due to the fact that we were not Scottish and I was Catholic. I thought it would pass but unfortunately, nothing happened. Today in 2013, we are only tolerated by the population and the Scottish administration; despite my university diplomas obtained in Scotland, I cannot find a position corresponding to me because no one for '
scratch my back'. So I go from periods of unemployment to small contracts. It is time for us to find a solution for a return to France: the Scottish adventure is more negative than positive and we feel trapped. The problem is that after 14 years, we no longer have any professional ties in France and no family, which seems to be a more than chaotic situation for a 'welcome' return. This Scottish experience taught me that unless you know all the cultural and professional codes of the country to which you are moving and benefit from internal support, expatriation does not seem possible to me. I've been surfing the web for months to find an association or administration capable of helping us but haven't found any. Ideally, we would like to live either in Corsica (where my family is from), Paris or the South; but in the current state of our situation, it is obvious that we will go where we find jobs and housing.
