I am a semi- retired engineer, originally from Russia but lived in the US since 1989. We would like to retire in Europe. I am looking at France or Portugal, Italy too. We are not in a hurry but we need to know how do we acquire medical services as expats, how can we retain our IRAa and money, how US social security works, do we have to become residents, etc.
