PERSONAL SUMMARY Born in Istanbul in 1957. Soloist and guitar teacher. Professor of harmony, counterpoint and fugue. An energetic, experienced and creative music teacher with a proven ability to get the very best out of pupils. An expert at identifying the appropriate resources required for a subject matter and then ensuring that they are used efficiently, effectively and safely. CAREER HISTORY Began studying classical guitar in 1971 at the Greek Conservatory, with the Professor E. Michalopoulos and graduated in 1979 with guitar diploma with distinction degree and prize. The same year he also took a diploma of harmony and orchestration with honours. He continued his studies with the Professor D. Katsimpa. He graduated in 1982 of a Counterpoint diploma and in 1984 of Fugue diploma with honours. Attended composition and orchestration lessons with composer C. Zervos . In 1977 he won the first prize in an international guitar competition, wining a scholarship to study guitar in Spain. He studied at the Conservatorio Superior de Musica in Alicante, with the famous professors Jose Tomas, Andres Segovia and Jos茅 Luis Rodrigo. He attended 9 International Seminars of classical guitar, playing in concerts of the best students, winning awards such as the first prize in 1980 and twice the first prize for two guitars music, in 1982 and 1983. He has also attended courses with famous guitar teachers such as J. Castro Baldi ( Peru ), W. Lendle and H. Kappel ( Germany ), N. Anderson and A. Parker ( USA ), D. Russel and R. Brightmor (England ), L. Christensen and M. Kammerling (Denmark ), K. Kotsiolis ( Greece ), J. Zapka ( Czechoslovakia ) . He has given many recitals as a solo, duet and chamber music in Athens and province with very good reviews and has played chamber music in television ERT 1 in 1979 and 1980. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE He has worked as a guitar, harmony, counterpoint and fugue teacher at the conservatories : Arion Athens (1975-1976) , Apollonius Conservatory (1977-1979) , Greek Conservatory (1977-1979 and 1984-1992) , Conservatory Music Education (1981-1984) , Conservatory of Music Studies (1982-today)
