About

Hello, My name is Rachel, 31 years old. I worked for 6 years in the food packaging industry in France after studying languages and a Professional License in Wholesale Trade - International Trade. However, I always wanted to work in the tourism sector. As this sector is not very promising, particularly in France, I decided to carry out studies that combine both languages (English-Italian) and business (customer service). After these few years in the industry and a first experience in a travel agency (travel sales and organization), I decided to take the plunge and redirect myself towards tourism. To achieve my long-term goals of working in this sector, my first imperative was to speak English fluently and gain professional experience. I then decided, with a friend there, to go to New Zealand, where for a year, I took the opportunity to travel of course, I took part-time English courses in a language school, I volunteered for various events and worked. To crown my year in New Zealand, my best experience as a volunteer was that of the Rugby World Cup in 2011 where I worked both welcoming tourists outside the stadiums and welcoming spectators inside the stadiums. I then returned to France. I tried to find work in tourism but it was quite complicated. So I followed a one-month professional training course to learn tourism software. Thanks to the network that I built up during this training, I had the opportunity to do some group support for a Lyon Tour Operator, I then went to work as a Destination Representative on a Greek island sent by another Lyon Tour Operator. And after 3 weeks of training in Italy with Costa, I worked in 2013 for 6 months on cruise ships as an International Hostess. Having acquired some experience over the last 2/3 years, I would now like to emigrate to Australia by working in this sector. I know that tourism is not one of the sectors in demand for expatriation but I still want to try my luck. If anyone has contacts or can share their experience with me, I would be delighted.
