Expat World Cup dilemma! âš½

Hello everyone,

A little World Cup curiosity…

Imagine this: your home country is playing, but so is the country you now call home. Who are you wearing the jersey for? 😅

The World Cup has a unique way of bringing people together from all corners of the globe, and I am curious to know how expats experience it.

Do you cheer for the country where you were born? The country that welcomed you? Do you switch your support to your adopted country if your team gets knocked out? Or do you find yourself cheering for both, no matter who is still in the competition?

For those whose country has already said goodbye to the tournament… who are you supporting now? Have you adopted a new favourite team? 😄

Tell us who you are backing in this World Cup!

Cheers,

Cheryl

To be honest, I have no interest in football and haven't watched any of it.  From a nationality aspect, I could support either the USA, England or with a bit of effort, the Netherlands, but then I'd have to surrender the other 2.

From a more light-hearted aspect, I read elsewhere on the internet that in breaking news this morning; the USA have appealed the result of their match against Belgium and withdrawn the visas of all the Belgian football team; as a result, the match scores have been reversed and Donald Trump has been credited with all 4 of the USA goals, making him the greatest USA goalscorer of all time; the Belgian team have been deported back to Belgium.

It made me laugh anyway.

Hey Cynic,

Let’s say that for now you '' are '' Team England, since they are the only ones left on your list. 😄

See how easy it is for Julien! Haha

Also, the last part of your message really made me laugh, nice one! 😂
