Working In Gambia

Hi

my wife and I are planning to live and work in Gambia in the near future, we are both professionals, my wife is a VAT Consultant and I am a Manufacturing Operations Manager.

We are looking for careers which are value added and would like to recieve tips, suggestions and advice on how to conduct an effective job search. We are already LinkedIn members and are building an network within that forum but we need to have as many perspectives as possible.

VAT was introduced last year, so there may be an opening for your wife somewhere. There are very few jobs at any level advertised in Gambia and those that are, pay Gambian wages. You'll need to find a job as an ex-pat to earn sensible money, so your best bet is probably through UK based agencies specialising in offshore posts. There is a large working ex-pat community here so it's just a question of finding the vacancies.
