How do I pay a traffic fine in Tanzania as a foreigner?

If you're a foreigner and received a traffic fine in Tanzania, you can pay it the same way as local drivers. First, check your fine using [link under review] with your vehicle registration number or the control number from your ticket. Once you confirm the amount, you can pay through the GePG (Government e-Payment Gateway) portal online, via mobile money (M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, or Airtel Money using the Pay Bill option), at a partner bank (CRDB, NMB, NBC), or in cash at a police station or authorized payment agent. You don't need a Tanzanian ID to pay — your vehicle's control number is enough. Always keep your payment receipt as proof, especially if you're driving a rental car or planning to leave the country soon, since unresolved fines can cause issues at the border or when returning the vehicle.
