Hi everyone !

I'm a long term expat that has worked in various countries on this planet but have recently been offered a GM position in Uganda. I've done my searching of the internet but still am stuck with a few questions I can't find answers for, maybe someone in Uganda could help me out a bit?

1. Is it easy to transfer money from Uganda to the EU? And how long does the average TT take?

2. As I plan on trying to save the max in five years time, can a single (male)person ive off of US$1000 a month there?

3. Is it wise to travel to Uganda without credit cards? I really don't like them anymore as I've had some rather bad experiences entering the USA to say it mildly. Customs know exactly where you've been the last ten years and it resulted in a nearly four hour "interview" at an unspecified American airport. By the time I walked out of that room the dirt under my shoes felt cleaner then I did.

4. I've been offered a house + car in the package but what does a good medical insurance cost?

5. Some countries I've worked in offer the residency visa on a separate A4 paper. Obviously I would prefer that as it keeps my passport as virgin as possible. Is this allowed in Uganda?

6. I would be bringing with me a rather big collection of computer equipment. Can I expect problems with it while trying to enter the country?

7. I have a long term, rather independent female friend. Can I bring her into Uganda on a visitors visa and let her stay with me during her visits? (Ran into trouble with that in Dubai, UAE and Ethiopia)

8. Does Uganda demand proof of vaccinations? I have the yellow international USA vaccination booklet and according to the doctors in Holland there is no need to renew my vaccinations yet.
