Purchasing a car as a foreigner with De Rantau visa

Hi everyone, I'm looking into the De Rantau visa (Professional Visit Pass (Pas Lawatan Ikhtisas PLIK)), but if I've understood correctly the short term visas don't allow their holders to buy a car on Malaysian territory. Do you know more? It would be a real problem for me to have to rent a car as it's very expensive.
