Greetings,
I see that this message is a little dated, however, I wanted to give my views on the topic.聽 The 13A , as I understand it, allows you to stay in the country for an extended amount of time.聽 That is why it is very important, to change it to a permanent resident under 13A, as I did.聽 You must still register once a year...it cost about 300 pesos..for the Icard (like a US green card)and is good for 5 years.聽 Then you must renew it, which I also did.聽 It took about 5 days for a new card. This card allows you to live and work in the Philippines.

And I believe as in the US, if something happen to your loved one, you can still stay and live in the Philippines.

Hope this helps.
