Hi All,

I am moving from Danang to Saigon and am looking for a company that will transport safely and with some degree of care my belongings.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Very much appreciated.

What are you talking about?

Things that can be packed in boxes and luggage or large crates or furniture?

Different options for different "belongings"

@OceanBeach92107聽 To be more clear: All will be in boxes except a set of 6 dining chairs. Currently occupies about 15m3 in my storage space. I will need to collect a few boxes from my current apartment as well. But all in boxes and nothing unusually heavy.

I moved from Saigon to Thai Nguyen with a full house of furniture, everything from a spoon to a refrigerator. Couch, two livingroom chairs, kitchen set, wardrobes, dressers, the whole kit-and-koboodle. Cost me only 15 million. That was in 2019.

Then, the same lot of stuff from Thai Nguyen to Phu Quoc Island. Cost was higher, at 34 million, back in 2022.

In both instances I had local friends find an independent shipper/trucker to carry the load. There was some damage to the furniture, but nothing too extreme that I wasn't able to repair myself. If you do use an independent, make sure to tape the boxes well, and to number conspicuously each of the boxes. It'll help keep things honest.

Short of recruiting a local to find a carrier, I have had very good success shipping via a company called "J&T Express". This might be your best bet with regard to your boxes. You'll be able to track each box on their website as the boxes pass through each waypoint. Can the chairs be disassembled?

@Aidan in HCMC Thanks for your reply. Interesting thought about J&T . I will unload at MyStorage in Saigon so I prefer to keep it to 1 or 2 loads as they inventory on arrival. I will hit up some of the real estate people that I have had contact with. Maybe they have an idea. When I moved to Danang, I used a company that completely fk'd everything up. My belongings arrived on top of a load of coconuts. And they buggered up the delivery as they had not only coconuts but 2 other sets of household goods to deliver. They subsequently sent 3 items to other addresses and lost the parts to a shelving system. An absolute circus. Took almost a week to luckily recover everything.聽 That experience is why I want to find someone that might be recommended by someone. Of course, it could turn out fine or not...LOL.
