Hello Expats,
I have a question for you all. I had a stroke almost 6 years ago and I have difficulty walking a long way. I have to go to the border to get my visa (it's been a long time since I had to get a Visa run).

Do you know about Bo Y border crossing?
Is it possible to get a car to the border crossing?

Hey Mark! Good to hear from you.

As I understand it from a number of online discussions, there's no Visa on Arrival available there, so you'll need to get a visa beforehand from the Laos Embassy or Consulate (there's one here in 膼脿 N岷祅g).

Bob (Khanh's husband) has been making a few MB trips into Laos over the past couple of years and he always comes here to 膼脿 N岷祅g to get his Laos visa at the consulate.

Docker at the QN Sports Bar has been putting together custom trips for various purposes since after COVID, and she might have a helpful suggestion.

If you can make it up to Hoi An or Da Nang, Lynn's Visa company can get you up to Lao B岷�o where visa on arrival is available, though some people choose to come this far to get the visa and then head back to Bo Y to make their crossing.

I have Visas to and from Bo Y,聽 I just need the border crossing information. This is my first time that I have to use this border crossing.

Do I have to walk for 100 meters or less than do get to the border crossing or do I have to get my electric wheelchair? I have someone to help me but I need someone who has been there to get the lay of the land.

I've got some information about the timing of my VISA run. I reach out to a friend of a friend and she said that a wheelchair is recommended because she said she doesn't know if we could stand around waiting on the line to get my visa.

The second thing is Docker said that she gave me the info to an Immigration Officer that should be able to get my immigration status but no luck. It's only for immigrants with no money (her mum was given the designation because she didn't have a pension for Australia).

Oh well, it was worth it to get a lesson on Vietnamese culture. 鈽猴笍

As an aside, in my (limited) experience I've not seen a border crossing where the immigration offices/checkpoints of neighbouring countries have been less than 100m from each other.
