ARSSeNaSa plan Larimar. Admission check ?

We (my wife and I, both over 80) want to emigrate to the Dominican Republic soon. We therefore want health insurance, and we understand that for our age, only ARSSeNaSa is an option (plan Larimar). However, a medical check is also required for admission. What is tested for in this check?

You are correct it's only ARS Senasa who offers anything.聽 A medical check is done and your age at application determines what tests are needed.聽 And you will have to cover the cost of all testing and acceptance is not guaranteed.

@Karel44

Anyone 55 or older has to take the medical exam before being accepted by Plan Larimar of SENASA. I suspect it is because they will exclude all pre-existing conditions.聽 For those , you will probably be paying out of pocket.聽

This is just my best guess and may not be correct.聽 Otherwise why would they do a medical check if not for including pre-existing conditions?

@windeguy

You are absolutely correct.聽

And no one should apply for that coverage unless there is NO other option. At 55 you can easily get coverage with some good companies at much better prices.
