If someone is working on single permit for 3 years and live with spouse is eligible for unlimited permit?

I arrived in Brussels in July of 2021 within visa D and I got my resident ID type A in October, so in the next October (One year) Can I apply for the "unlimited work permit"? Or my first cycle of tax filing is suppose to be ended this December?

Can I travel with same single permit for different client company and different location in Belgium from my current organization. What are the steps needs to be followed to update with new company address, Since I am not started working with company against Single permit got approved.

my SP is expiring on 31-December-2022 and my current employer has applied my extension in Flanders region and it will take another 1 month for WA approval.

Now I got another job offer and new employer will also apply for my new WA in Brussels region.

Will there be any issue, please advise what should be the best approach.

The issue is that it will take 2-3-4 months to have a new single permit.

Meaning that when your current work permit expire you can't work anymore and need to wait your new work permit to start working and get money again ===> you must have enough money to take care of yourself

Hi @rajroyal85, I wonder what happens when you already have a renewal process on going and another company wants to apply for a permit for you as well. Do you tell the current employer you are leaving and they withdraw the renewal application?

My question is: can I still travel to Belgium with this visa even just as a tourist for a couple of days? knowing that the company already revoked my single permit, but I still have the visa on my passport anyway

If I change my employer working under a single permit and my work permit for the new employer is approved during the notice period which I had to work for the old employer, can I continue to work for the old employer until the end of this notice period? Or will my old work permit be canceled immediately? How does the procedure proceed at this stage?

Hi, I was in a similar situation 5 years ago.

Once your work permit for the new employer is approved you then link your residence permit to the new work permit (the city hall helped me to do it).

With that you can still continue to work for your old employer until your notice period is done.

Your new employer should be aware of this situation and they can send that details to the government. I got my new work permit and I still worked 1 month for my old employer before transitioning...

i have been here in Belgium since Oct2022 now i am planning to change聽 job. working here on single permit D visa聽 which is also known as fixed term contract visa and it is valid for one year and every year we need to renew it as usual.

so i just wanted to know聽 that if i am having valid residency permit for a year and i change my job in Belgium do i need to go through all process like i earlier i had.

or if my new employer provide me new work permit which take around 1 or 1.5 month which depends on region to region and after getting new work permit can i start my work with new employer as i am having valid residency permit. or i will have to wait as earlier.

as before it was first you submitted the application for work permit and thn work authorisation take action on it and with positive they send it to immigration for residency permit once it's done by them they provide annex46.

Hi, if you change your employment here, then your new employer applies for your work permit.

Once you get your work permit, you can start working for the new employer with it and dont have to wait for a new RP.

Just keep in mind to apply for the change of RP to the new employer and follow-up.

I had a situation where my employer was forcing me to cancel the RP that was linked to them. If you do that, then you need to follow the whole process of applying for a new RP... In case your current employer forces you to do so then contact your new employer HR and the city hall and they can help聽 you speed-up the process to switch to the new employer linked RP.

Hi,

Normally the RP procedure is started once your WP is approved. Once your WP is approved, ask your HR to help speed-up and also connect with the city hall to help you change the employer.

But all this is needed if you current employer has problems with your RP... I had problem because my employer was not from Belgium and they forced me to cancel and return to my home country... With this they were trying to make it difficult for me to reapply for a new RP and so on. But I informed this to the new employer and they co-ordinated with the cityhall to already link my RP to the new employer while I was still working for the old employer.

They mentioned on the application that the new RP will start from the day you join the new employer.

yes, once you have a new WP, then the old WP is not valid/needed anymore.

Now my employer who is from Pakistan also has some personal issues and want me to suffer and make me lose my permit.
