Australia is an amazing country, but not without problems. The cost of living is very high. Your daughter sounds like she's having some interesting life experiences!

Yes, she's very adventurous BUT doesn't really have a settled life in the same way that many people do.聽

No kids with the hubby but if they get to Perth, I guess there's always a chance of me becoming a grandparent somewhere down the line. I'm ready for that!聽 聽

People these days seem to worry about what is going in the world too much these days.聽 I say, just have the kids and it will work out in the end as one will adapt plans to involve 3 or more people rather than just two.

We'd certainly be adding to the United Nations that is the wider Fluffy family.

I hope it all works out well for them -- and you!

I've had a very unsettled adventurous phases, interspersed with longer periods in one place. Now, all I want to do is be settled in one place and never travel again!

Yes, we'll see.

I don't mind travel so much but I must say living out of suitcases for a long time drags a bit.

I've been to some really unusual places and that was all very interesting but I get tired faster than I used to and a lot of the time I don't want to hang about in odd countries/places for anything more than a couple of weeks.

@JimJ -- That depends how one defines odd, and how odd one is personally!

My own oddness finds Bg, despite all it's quirks and challenges, a better fit than the UK.

Anything EU is not odd. I mean Asia and Africa mainly is more different.

EU is becoming Euro-normalised wherever one goes so it looks the same most places. There's always a Lidl, Aldi, Raiffeisen Bank etc. Shops seem to have all the same stuff in them.

Nothing wrong with oddness if it's harmless eccentricity.

I think Bulgaria is more different to the UK than many other EU countries might be, especially our in the very rural villages like our place is. Cities tend to share more similarities no matter where one is in the world.

But yes, there are undoubtedly many places that would be far more challenging to adjust to.
