Did you tell them your town? Did you write in English or Bulgarain?

@SimCityAT

Hi SimCity,

Yes, I included the name of the village and wrote it in both Bulgarian and English. I even mentioned that I was writing from England,

I鈥檒l keep trying, though.

I鈥檓 heading back in July because I need some work done on the roof. Although, in my experience, they rarely talk about repairs鈥攖hey usually want to replace the entire roof! It seems that whenever I ask someone to look at a specific issue, the conversation immediately turns to the roof, which, unsurprisingly, is the biggest and most expensive job.

Believe me, I鈥檝e had the same discussion six times with six different people. It鈥檚 becoming quite ridiculous.

These days, I start by saying, 鈥淚 don鈥檛 need any roof work done. I鈥檓 only interested in discussing the heating system, please.鈥 It seems to be the only way to keep everyone focused on the actual job at hand!

I've found Bulgarian businesses an individuals rarely respond to emails. Text or using a messaging service like Viber (very popular here) may work better if you've been emailing.

Jane is quite right - getting an answer to an email is very rare! Viber or WhatsApp are your best bets, with a Facebook message a distant third..

It's a comfy option, but it's not a standard type of installation in Bulgaria, especially if it's a renovation rather than a new build. And it's probably one of the more expensive heating options you could choose. From what I see, the typical install is an an A/C per room for heating and cooling, and maybe some extra heating if you need it by wood/pellet stove. If you go for any kind of central heating you'll find it's more expensive, and you'll still end up (probably) also putting in AC units to keep the place cool in summer.
