Relocation package v/s Cash

Hello members,


I will be relocating soon to Copenhagen from Germany and company has given me a choice between taking the relocation package or cash. I have been reading various forums and getting differing opinions on this topic. I will be moving with my only my wife and we plan to leave behind most of our furniture in Germany.

I have no personal experience regarding relocation myself, but if the relocating package includes finding a suitable housing, I would go for that.


Both a relocation package and cash are taxable income.

I have been relocated to Denmark and got the cash, but what they offered me was not enough to find a place to stay in Denmark and to ship my things which were simply bags no furniture. The apartment hunt is also hard and places would require 3 months deposit as a minimum. If you end up renting a temporary place, they are also very expensive.聽
