Live in Birmingham and surroundings area

Hi

I'm Roberto, I'm Italian and soon I will move to Birmingham for work.
I would like to receive some advice about the best place to live in Birmingham and surroundings area (about 1 hours by train).
I would like to choose a quiet place for work and living, but i really not have any idea about the "right ones".

What area will your work be? Birmingham is very big so you may wish to live closer to where you work?

I got a home based work, but I shall stay on Birmingham area.
That's why I'm looking for a quiet place for living.
Especially I don't want choose an area where there is a high crime rate.
Do you have any advice?
Solihull?
Stafford?
Burton?
