Strangely, vets don't appear on the UK shortage occupation list, so he will not be able to apply for one of the special work visa's relevant to that group.聽 It may be that other countries do make special immigration provisions for veterinary surgeons, but I have no information on that, perhaps you should ask the question in the Forum for that relevant country.

Whatever, veterinary surgeons wishing to work in a country outside of where they qualified will need to check that their qualifications are recognised where they intend to practice.

Adding to what Cynic has said, he will also need to know the local language where you will be based as you will be dealing with the general public.

A foreign vet has to take this exam, but taking it does t mean he can get a work permit.


You can apply for him to come to the UK as a spouse. If your relationship is legit, and ongoing and you have been seeing each other for a long time it's not a big deal... but they require lots of physical visits not virtual contact.
