Just be aware that international schools are quite pricey.

International school tuition in Montpellier, France, generally ranges from approximately €5,000 to over €10,000 per year for K-12, varying by institution, grade level, and services. Specialized international schools often have additional one-time registration and entry fees, sometimes totaling over €2,000.

Take, for instance, : Annual tuition is approximately €7,980, with a €2,100 entry fee and additional registration/admission fees.

Hi Valerie, I love Montpelier (and Sete which is just a few kms south) we used to live near(ish) to Beziers..... Have you already bought your property? What ages are the children (If you're planning on staying, I would strongly suggest putting them into a mainstream French school pretty much regardless of age.... yes, everyone will have difficulties with the language at first, but being immersed in it at school will ultimately be a massive advantage for them in the longer run).

I have written a couple of books on Buying property in France (It details the complete process from starting tolook through to after you have the keys, with everythhing explained along the way; particularly the clauses that you may not be aware of that can protect you in the compromis de vente, and the manner in which you actually structure ownership). My other two books which explain and demystify the Healthcare system and what to expect when enrolling children in the education system (and what you need for various stages).... although those two are still with my editor... Regardless, I hope that your new life in and around Montpelier is everything that you hope and expect it to be.... it really is an absolutely beautiful part of France with many opportunities. @Valeriepattle have you watched any of the baguetteBound YT videos?  They moved a couple of years ago with their...10 yo (?) daughter.  They plopped her into a French school in Eymet France, none off them spoke a word of French.  They just did a review with her where she said she was really happy that they did it that way rather than finding a place where there were other English-speakers. It was tough at first, but it prevented her from forming an English bubble.  She's now fluent in French and French life.  see this: : and this one:
