Suspension of some family reunification visas

German lawmakers have suspended family reunification visas for certain migrants for two years, passing the measure by a wide margin.


People with so-called subsidiary protection do not have full asylum status in Germany but cannot return to their home country due to war or threat of torture. The controversial move will affect Syrian families in particular.
