Sorry but when one poses a badly written question then they should not be surprised if they don’t get the answers they seek. Unfortunately, many questions posed on this site leave one to speculate on many factors or not answer at all. And in the end it is obvious that you should have simply asked your employer rather than posting the question you did. Our ignorance of your situation is only due to your failure to properly inform.

And one should also realize that information given here is meant for everyone and not just the OP. Thus I often give a broad answer or additional data when a similar but different situation might lead to a very different conclusion. What one can take from this thread is that mini-jobs lack the protections and guarantees often provided by normal full time jobs. People are often expected to show up on very short notice - or suddenly be given no work for a time.
