Secondary school changeability with UK

Hello. I am undergoing interviews for a one year contract in Berlin with possibilities of extension. My daughter has just started year 9. According to preliminary research I have done, the Abitur and IB are qualifications obtained at the end of school whereas I am interested in my daughter returning to do A'levels in the UK. Can you switch between education in Germany and UK? Abitur seems like you'd need German so that seems out. Is there an IB qualification equivalent to GCSEs?

The UK and German system are quite different, not mutually compatible - and all schooling here is of course in German (even at "bilingual" schools, at least half the teaching is done in German).

It seems your only option is ab international school following the UK system - this won't be cheap (budget at least 1000鈧�/month per child) and unless you select an accommodation nearby, the school would be far from where you live.
