I am currently working for a client in Munich but registered for VAT in UK. I reside in UK but i am in Germany during the week. Does anyone know process for registering for VAT here in Germany for someone that is not a residence of Germany?

I believe only a business registered in Germany can get a VAT (MWSt) number here.
But please ask a tax consultant for confirmation.

I purchase VAT forms at the local US military installation.聽 Certain stores on the local economy will accept these forms and will then issue a refund for VAT paid at purchase.聽 May I please ask if there is another process?

Kongfang: After registering your business, you have to apply for a MWSt (= VAT/GST) number at your local Finanzamt (tax authority).

Sorry, I cannot help with the actual formalities - only you yourself are allowed to do that - or to engage a consultant for this with a power of attorney (and for a fee, of course).
