Long time here,no friends.What a boredom!

Hi everyone!

I have been living in Iceland almost 5 years, now. My man is Icelander and i am Spanish.
I am 35 years old and i don麓t fancy going to discotheques neither drinking so it麓s not easy for me to meet people here, since Bonus does not seems a very good option...
Well,i would just like to meet people and have some fun.
BTW, i live in Hafnarfjordur, the most fun town in Iceland!  :)
Contact me if you feel in similar situation or just want to meet new people to talk to.
Looking forward!

Well, seems than no one needs to make new friends... or no one麓s interested in being my friend  :/
There's a Facebook group for foreigners living here that's pretty active. Search for "Away from Home In Iceland" or something like that. You'll find a lot more people there than on here.
Thanks,Deong!

I am already in  that Facebook group, but is really not much going on there.Mostly people asking for where to buy this or a place to rent. Is true that sometimes they make quests, but i am not very good on that (and as you can read,English is not my mother tongue and don麓t know much history about England,America or Australia to participate in an English quest).

Maybe i麓ll try in the Women麓s story circle...

Seems that now,not only Icelanders are almost impossible to be friends to...

Thanks for your help,anyway!!!

Icelanders are friendable but it seems to be most effective if you do it on their terms. If you join a group activity such as they like to do here, it works pretty well. There are tons of sport activities, singing groups, knitting groups and the like that will get you mixing with locals more.

I also found that the locals who're most open to being friends with foreigners are those who worked or studied abroad for several years, so they're generally more open to meeting people of other cultures. I guess they've also experienced how challenging it can be to be the outsider somewhere.
Thanks,ECS!

Hehehehe...I sing like a frog!
And any manual or artistic stuff is out for me,i have 10 thumbs  :麓(.

Well, seems that i麓ll be alone here until i麓ll retire and then i麓ll force my man to move elsewhere. Just 30 years from here  LOL

I used to be a person who smiled and laughed a lot, this country will froze my heart,but...who cares?

If you find a club of Icelanders that have been abroad and are interested of meting new people ( maybe better if they are over 30 and they don麓t get scared of a 35 years old Jurassic woman),please, let me know. I could really use to have some friends and even better to improve my almost 0 level of Icelandic :)))

Best regards!

Hi again!
I must say that things are turning a bit around and this is making me happy. I have started singing in an international choir and even though it麓s very difficult for me to follow the instructions (my first time, ever!) i think i can do it better and i麓ll have some fun there  :))
As well, must say that the Facebook group "Away from home, living in Iceland" has become much more interesting that how used to be. Met a couple of nice ladies there and i am looking forward of meeting more nice people in Iceland  :)
ECS,thanks a lot for the good advices!!

Best regards!
