Scicily relocated

Hello. I'm in a fortunate position to be able to purchase聽 a property in scicily in the next couple of years. ive visIted the east coast and i like what ive seen. im going to visit the north this year and have a look about.聽 Syracuse聽 and Noto got my attention.聽 聽Beautiful places. im going to look palmero and cefalu. id like a town that has a local community,out of the tourist season. amd not too far from the sea. any advice is greatly appreciated. thanks. I always say drive around until you find a place that feels like home, then zone in on what you want to buy.聽 Noto is nice, only 6km from the sea, but not great for shopping - you'd have to go to avola or Modica.聽 Siracusa, on hte sea, no beaches - you have to go to Arenella or Fontane Bianche 14 km to the south for a beach, as do聽 the other 170000 Siracusani.聽 聽Between Catania and Taormina - Acireale, Acitrezza Giarre etc - all nice, but no beaches as such.聽 聽 Scicli, ticks most of your boxes,聽 Marina di Ragusa is on the sea.聽 Then along to Scoglitte,Vittoria - avoid right until after Gela.聽 聽IN fact Id avoid it all till Selinunte.聽 聽North coast - nice spots,聽 some good beaches - but remember the sun is behind聽 on a northern beach.聽 No big enough towns to give you the culture you crave.聽 聽Unless you re in Catania or Palermo you will drive to get a culture fix, especially because music and theatre are in town only in the winter, and in summer everything is at the beach.聽
