Leaning the language in the Latin alphabet is sufficient, but if you want to be thorough, I suggest also learning the Cyrillic alphabet as well. You will find mixed use of the alphabets here, even so far as seeing street signs in one alphabet on one corner, and the other alphabet on the opposite corner.

To avoid finding yourself in the middle of nationalistic arguments with Montenegrins, I suggest you refer to the language as "Lokalni" (Local Language) in conversation.

The language you should learn is SERBIAN.聽 On a scale of 1 to 5 in language difficulty, Serbian ranks 4, with only聽 Chinese, Japanese, and Korean more difficult at 5, and German at 3.聽 Serbian also uses two alphabets, the Cyrillic (like Russian) and the Latin (used in English and European languages).聽 The Montenegrin language officially now uses the Latin alphabet.
