How to apply to residency?

Hi,guys.
Relocating to Lisbon in april.
Need some advices who are already passed whole proccess of recieving residency?
Some of landlords told that theirs aparts "vacation apart"....
1.What kind of rent contract should i have to apply to residency?
I already have NIF.
2. What steps i should do after have a rent contract? where have to go?
In the beginning want to rent room for stay for a month.....is this month enough to find an
any answers will be useful because i totally dont have info.
