Closing bank accounts of deceased

Hi Everyone,

I will closing my recently deceased father's accounts (2) next month and he has a few direct debits still running. Is this process straightforward? ie will the bank stop paying these and I will take over from my bank?

I am sorry for your loss, I would show the bank the death certificate, maybe make them a copy. It should be straightforward.
