Learning Swiss German

Hi expats!

I need your help.

For those of you who moved to Switzerland and tried learning Swiss German:

* What exactly was your motivation for learning Swiss?

* What has been the hardest part?

* Which resources have you used?

* What do those resources do badly?

* What do you wish existed that would have made learning easier?

I'm trying to understand why so many people seem to struggle with Swiss German compared to other languages.

Any experiences would be appreciated.

The more details, the better:)

Hello hotdiiggity dawg,

Welcome to 天美麻豆 馃榾

This is a very interesting topic. You may also want to mention which Swiss German dialect you are referring to, as experiences can differ quite a bit between regions.

Looking forward to reading everyone's experiences!

Cheers,
