Should I go Bachelors in Business or International Relations?

I have been studying business and economics since school, and could go pretty well along. Not my first love, but neither I abhor it.

However, I have always been more interested in current affairs, reading all the newspapers, world history, world politics, essays, presentations- and almost all of this forms the part of an International Relations Bachelors. Why this wasn't my first choice was definitely the 'job' prospect. But I guess, I might do an MBA later on to improve this aspect as well. What are your comments on this?

However, I do not want to be unemployed and earn not even a basic salary after my undergraduate.

I will do any of these degrees from Germany.

IT'S ABOUT "THINKING SMART"....In response to your inquiry it would make sense to follow your passion, yet do it the right way.

A suggestion is:

LLB (LAW) - a law degree has some international papers e.g. International law.
Combined with
B.A (International Relations and Management) at least 4-6 management papers

If you combine these two, you will be assured a job as the scope becomes VERY wide. Having an LLB will open doors to you, that you could never otherwise imagine. You have a LLB and you will have an edge on many other applicants when applying for a future job. YOU WILL NEVER BE UNEMPLOYED and if money is important to you, your salary will be high to (with experience聽 ... very/extremely high).

With a passion for international relations it sounds like you may like to consider entering the Diplomatic field or work for a NGO. Whatever the decision you make if it feels right, then maybe that is your path.

Go well and do the best you can do.

You can still carry on with IR studies but then u have to continue ur career in your native country as journalism and being a current affair analyst is one of the most highly paid professions these days in Pakistan.

If u want to stay in KSA, then off course no other choice then MBA.

That really sounds like a very well worked-out plan. I'm not haunted by Law at all, so the combination of these two is really feasible.

Well, I'm not really sure if IR is particularly a good choice in context of Pakistan. Yea, there are some 9, 10 top current-affair analysts, who must be earning great, but that doesn't guarantee everyone a successful career.

Does anyone here know about ACCA? How lucrative is that in KSA? Better chances at getting jobs?

If you tend to follow this law of yours then even LLB, ACCA and MBA cant guarantee a successful career!!!

It聮s all about how much effort you put and how much u go down deep in a field yet successfully holding a diverse profile.

News channels in Pakistan are forming a centaurous of IR careers. The boom has altogether diverted conventional career selection from engineering/medical to IR, Political Sciences and national security.

Some presence in urban Pakistan may make you believe the prevailing fact.
