For those who love the Colombia Lifestyle this tax chart will give you a basic idea of what you need to pay to live here more than 183 days in any calendar year. As you can see the first $11,000.00 US based on 3250 peso/dollar is not taxed but over that you pay on all that you have. There are deductions so the service of an experienced Colombian tax accountant is worth the money.

It is a great country to live in, it is not free but reasonable even after paying the tax.

Hello Apache06.聽 I am currently living in El Cabrero, Cartagena.聽 If you want to live in Bocagrande I would suggest you stay in a hotel there for a few days first.聽 There are many hotels in the area and also many apartments available.聽 Usually there are signs displayed on available apartments that will display the contact number for the letting agent.聽 Walk around and get a feel for the place before you commit to any deal because some parts are better than others.聽 I moved away from Bocagrande because I didn't enjoy being constantly propositioned by waves of hawkers and scammers that prey on tourists and gringos.聽 I only swam in the sea one time.聽 I was put off by the rubbish in the water.

I was born in Medellin, moved to Boston when I was 2 years old and am now living in Cartagena with my gf.

My first tip, Colombians get mad when you spell Colombia with a u haha! Its *Colombia, not Columbia.

We're currently living in Cielo Mar and are loving it so far. Its removed enough from the hustle and bustle of Bocagrande and the walled city, but still close enough to resources that Crespo provides (super markets etc). And its still a quick $4 USD cab ride to the walled city.

Playa azul is right here, which just got credit its blue flag.
