Visa refusal for having served prison ?

Hi,

I am French, and especially talking for a friend of mine.

I read that it was quite easy to get a visa pour Suriname and Cambodia, but there is one thing that might stop that friend of mine. Don't try to read too much in my question (or do, I don't mind though won't elaborate), but is having served prison for a crime an obstacle ?聽 Are they gonna refuse just for that, even after many years ?

Who must I contact to know for sure ?

Thank you !

Hello and welcome

The best way to obtain a definitive answer is to contact the embassy or consulate of the country where your friend intends to apply, or the country's official immigration authorities. They will be able to explain whether a past conviction is relevant for the type of visa being sought and whether any supporting documents are required.
