My expat journey
Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic
I live with my two children aged 11 and 5. Arrived here in September 2007, with my husband and a project that didn't work out. We separated very quickly and each went about his own life.
Being an accounting secretary by trade, I quickly found a job at the French school where I worked for a year and a half and then I joined a hotel where I have been the accountant for a little over a year.
I love life here, the people, the climate, the sweetness of life. I love dancing and here I am served.
I deplore the excessive rent and life here in Las Terrenas is very expensive compared to other cities in the country. Foreigners living here greatly exaggerate on prices. It is very difficult to get by when you only have a salary as your income.
