I come from the Paris region and I lived in Westchester (above the Bronx) (5 years in Larchmont and 5 years in Mamaroneck) with our 3 children. For 5 years, since the children left to live their lives, we have been living in an apartment in Manhattan but we have just decided to move next July to Hoboken, New Jersey because of NYC rent prices which have increased significantly in recent years. We were under an expatriate contract for 10 years and have been "local" since 2004. We love NY and decided to stay permanently in the USA in 2001 without ever having regretted this decision. I just discovered your blog and thought it would be a good idea to chat with people living in New Jersey after living in Manhattan, to get information about life there ;-)
