About

In Sosua, I think I can claim to be part of the street furniture. I've been there for a very long time. But strangely enough, I only go out during the day, for shopping and the inevitable aperitif. Living in the Republic requires a certain adaptation and a taste for risk. Here, a "gringo" is necessarily rich and one must develop a certain distrust with regard to proposals of friendship. They must be considered interested from the outset, then it will always be soon enough to unclench their jaws. The Republic is not the best choice of country for those who are very attached to the letter of the Law. Here, it's more like the Wild West... Watch vehicles drive for 30 minutes... including police vehicles. We must always anticipate... and apply this principle to all our activities and relationships. A Dominican male is always an expert in everything: gynecologist, airplane pilot, expert electrician and super mechanic. The important thing is to always remember that he has never studied and that this knowledge is innate. So be careful. The woman is generally very different, although several have been vaccinated with an old gramophone needle which always repeats the same words "Lady! Necesito! Quiero!. Give me! I need! I need! But, beyond the population, the two great qualities of this country are the sun with its generous heat 12 months a year and its still very affordable cost of living. And that's why I live here.

longer term stay Sosua by tp3813

Considering staying in Sosua (or Puerto Plata) for 3 months or possible longer Can anyone advise on reasonably priced accommodation (furnished 1 bedroom Apt or Studio) for about $300-500 per month? Also-If not gated community is security a problem?
