Hello everyone ! Visitor for several months to this forum, the interest of the information transmitted pushes me to register. I would like to take this opportunity to salute the relevance and documentation of the interventions (Yann, Ana de Castillo, Cathysuite, among others...) I lived in the French West Indies (St. Barths.) for 23 years. Due to this geographical promiscuity, I had the opportunity to stay in the Rep. on several occasions. Dom. for my leisure (35 stays of 1 to 4 weeks over the last 12 years). I get by in Spanish having learned the basics at school, and having worked with Spanish speakers throughout my career. It is therefore on the basis of these experiences that I decided, when I reached retirement age, to come and retire to this country. So I have been in Santo Domingo since August 2012; in full "residency request" mode... I hope to participate in your discussions to the extent of my skills. See you soon ! Jean-Marie
